It's done with blue and black washes used as glazes. They dry pretty quick as you put them on thinly then finish it of, unusually, with a glaze of bright silver.pingohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07480065382739541250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7307679726207243076.post-47848991310616735062012-12-05T23:20:44.469+00:002012-12-05T23:20:44.469+00:00Well with all the runes, you could have the power ...Well with all the runes, you could have the power channeling through them. Make them useful rather than decorative, like the Dwarves in Warhammer.

I just noticed the shiny on the axe. It's really neat, did it take a while to do?Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08932350502657762052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7307679726207243076.post-76512385650572209472012-12-05T06:35:14.760+00:002012-12-05T06:35:14.760+00:00Hey Nick; thanks, glad you like it.

I'm not sure whether or not to keep his eyes normal to reflect him commanding the powers of nature rather than channelling otherworldly energies.pingohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07480065382739541250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7307679726207243076.post-64037138566801027412012-12-05T00:16:44.215+00:002012-12-05T00:16:44.215+00:00If kitbashing-est isn't a word it should be. It's an excellent subtle kitbash, which is much harder to do than grafting an Ork Power Klaw onto a Marine Sargeant.

The eyes are really well done. Again: subtle and effective. Can't wait to see what you do with the Rune Priest :)Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08932350502657762052noreply@blogger.com
